As one of Australia's leading and most respected fashion designer brands, we are excited to share that ZIMMERMANN has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Product Developer to join our Design team.
This role is responsible for assisting with the sourcing and development of raw materials for Zimmermann's seasonal Swimwear and Kids collections.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Research and investigate new suppliers seasonally to maintain market edge with fabric and trim offering.
- Attend sourcing appointments with the Design Room Manager and the Product Development Manager.
- Co-ordinate the sending of artworks to suppliers for strike off.
- Ordering and tracking delivery of all SMS components in line with Critical Path key dates.
- Create and manage a system for storing sourced Raw Materials that is accessible for all teams.
- Oversee the upkeep and filing of all Raw Materials– manage the archive and new seasonal sourcing.
- Maintaining seasonal component library for handover to Production.
- Set up and maintenance of accurate raw materials in BOMs.
Required skills & expertise:
- Completed a tertiary course in Fashion and/or Textiles and preferably have up to 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Have a good knowledge of fabrics & trims and a keen interest in fashion.
- Be able to combine both creative and technical skills.
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Be exceptionally well organized and methodical.
- Computer skilled, particularly in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software is highly desirable.
