The Principal Analyst provides high level advice on the performance of the Queensland child protection system, leads interpretative and statistical analyses, and develops business intelligence reports that can support timely and effective decision-making and inform the development, implementation, and evaluation of legislation, policy and programs.

As a Principal Analyst You Will

  • Provide high level advice using advanced oral and written communication on issues affecting the Queensland family support and child protection system for internal and external stakeholders, that can be drawn upon to inform strategic planning and policy deliberations.
  • Provide project management leadership, including the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Lead the design and implementation of performance reporting frameworks, business intelligence reports and dashboard analytics, to support performance


monitoring across the child protection system and meet agency reporting requirements.

  • Lead and coordinate complex reporting, analysis, modelling and data analytics relating to the family support and child protection system.
  • Coordinate the effective use of information, data and systems by investigating performance reporting, systems and data quality issues and causes and recommend solutions, as part of the corporate reporting program of work.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and assist in the specification, testing and implementation of reporting solutions, including reporting datasets and information system enhancements.
