Senior Software Engineer (Contract)

Role Overview:

This role is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team to develop SaaS and On-premise telecom security products and to create state-of-the-art CI/CD pipelines that allow us to react quickly to new security threats in the field. There is a large variety of languages, technologies and techniques that will be used in this work. The successful candidate will be expected to adapt and learn new technologies quickly.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of requirements and work in a team to evaluate, design and implement solutions using a variety of languages and technologies. You will perform requirements analysis and make technology and architecture decisions as required. You will lead the delivery of individual features.

This role is offered on an independent contractor or fixed-term employee, for an initial period of 6 to 12 months, project dependent. Classification will be determined based on the degree of control, autonomy, and nature of deliverables, in accordance with Irish employment law.

Location: Dublin - Hybrid role (Minimum 2 days office based).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end technical solutions across a range of technologies.
• Proactively identify problems and drive the definition and implementation of effective solutions.
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear, scalable solutions and accurate work estimates.
• Balance strategic thinking with pragmatic, tactical decision-making to ensure high-quality design outcomes.
  
  

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years as a software developer.
• Significant experience with CI/CD pipelines and development lifecycles for SaaS and On-premise products.
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly and independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication (English).
• Computer science, engineering or other related degree.
  
  

Mandatory Experience:

• Linux
  
  

Experience developing backend systems with at least one of these languages:

• C++, Java, Rust
• Python, Bash
• Git, Jenkins
• Kubernetes, Docker
  
  

Competent in the following technologies:

• Infrastructure as Code
• AWS, VMWare or other cloud platforms
• Terraform, Ansible or equivalent
• Robot Framework or PyTest
  
  

Useful additional requirements:

• Experience with Kafka, Kafka Streams, Elasticsearch, Redis, Prometheus, Kibana, SQL/RDBMS
• Telecoms signalling protocols: Diameter, SS7, GTP-C, SIP
• Telecoms messaging: SMS, SMPP, MMS
  
  

Salary Range:

€400 - €500 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
