We’re DataPebbles, a lean, international AI team based in Leiden, building next-gen generative AI tools. We don’t just play with models - we ship. From custom LLM pipelines to synthetic data engines, image-based search, knowledge graph systems, and NL2Graph tooling, we turn cutting-edge AI into working products for real clients, across sectors.

Now, we’re looking for a builder, doer, and lifelong learner to join our team as an AI Engineer.

What You’ll Do

• Build and deploy custom GenAI solutions.
• Design and ship AI features that solve real pain points.
• Optimize production AI: Fine-tune, optimize, and integrate LLMs, CV models, and multimodal systems for speed, cost, and reliability.
• Integrate AI into workflows using tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and custom orchestration layers.
• Tackle hard problems: Reduce hallucinations, improve latency etc.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, helping them grow technically.

Who You Are

• 5+ year work experience in AI engineering
• Builder mindset: you prioritise user impact over model hype.
• A brain wired for learning. You move fast and ask smart questions.
• Strong communicator: you can translate technical complexity into user value.
• Already based in the Netherlands is preferred.

Proven expertise in:

• LLM integration (RAG, agentic architectures, prompt engineering)
• Experience with Fine-tuning and deploying models
• Experience running AI applications on GPUs (Nvidia ecosystem)
• Experience building with frameworks like LangChain or custom orchestration
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and integrating AI into backend environments
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and deploying AI models in production

• Core: Python, FastAPI, Celery, PostgreSQL, React
• AI/ML: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain
• Infra: AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Redis
• Observability: cost optimisation
