The Chief Data Scientist leads the strategic vision, development, and application of advanced analytical models, machine learning, and artificial intelligence solutions for IT Co. This role is crucial for transforming raw data into actionable insights, building intelligent products, and enabling data-driven decision-making for Axian Telecom's clusters and external clients. This position ensures IT Co remains at the forefront of AI and data science innovation, driving value creation across all service offerings.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Chief Data Scientist is responsible for pioneering and implementing IT Co’s data science and AI capabilities, developing advanced analytical models, and translating complex data insights into tangible business value. This involves leading a team of data scientists and AI experts, setting the technical direction for AI/ML development, and ensuring the effective integration of data science solutions into IT Co's service offerings for Axian Telecom's clusters and external clients.
RESPONSIBILITES
ACTIVITIES / TASKS
Lead AI and Data Science Strategy & Development:
- Define and drive the strategic roadmap for IT Co’s AI and data science capabilities, including AI Ideation, AI Use Case Validation, AI-Product Development, AI Model Development, MLOps, and Agentic AI.
- Oversee the research, development, and implementation of advanced machine learning models and artificial intelligence solutions to address complex client business problems and create new service offerings.

Drive Data-Driven Innovation and Insights for Clients
- Lead initiatives to extract actionable insights from complex datasets, utilizing techniques such as Data Insights, Computer Vision, and Language Technologies, specifically tailored to client needs and challenges.
- Collaborate with the Head of Business Intelligence and Head of Data Engineering to ensure data availability, quality, and architecture support advanced analytical needs for client projects.

Support Pre-Sales and Direct Client Engagement
- Act as the primary technical expert for data science and AI in client-facing pre-sales engagements, articulating the value and feasibility of proposed solutions to clients and stakeholders.
- Develop compelling demonstrations and prototypes of AI/ML capabilities tailored to specific client challenges and use cases.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand client needs and contribute to the technical aspects of proposals for data science and AI projects.
Foster Technical Expertise and Team Growth
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and AI researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning to better serve clients.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science, ensuring IT Co maintains a competitive edge in its offerings for the client market.
- Drive knowledge sharing and best practices across IT Co's technical teams, especially concerning the application of AI and data science in client solutions.
Any additional or related activities requested by the Management and/or his/her supervisor within his/her competence and expertise.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION:
- PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field. Global Top Tier University Graduate is a plus.
LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE:
- More than 10 years of progressive experience in data science, machine learning, or AI development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or principal data scientist role within an IT service provider.
- Demonstrable experience in leading and building high-performing data science, machine learning, or AI research teams.
- Proven track record in successfully designing, deploying (including MLOps), and optimizing machine learning models in production environments.
- Experience collaborating with sales and solutioning teams in a pre-sales capacity for data science/AI projects.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Computer tools :
- Advanced Statistical Modeling & Machine Learning: Expertise in various ML algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning), deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and statistical analysis techniques.
- Data Manipulation & Programming: Proficiency in Python, R, Scala, or similar, with strong experience in data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and SQL.
- Big Data Technologies : Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Google Cloud AI Platform, AWS SageMaker, Azure ML).
- MLOps & Deployment : Practical experience with machine learning operations (MLOps) tools and practices for model versioning, deployment, monitoring, and retraining in production environments.
- Cloud AI Services: Familiarity with AI/ML services offered by major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experimentation Design: Strong understanding of A/B testing, causal inference, and experimental design for measuring impact.
- Ethical AI & Bias Detection: Knowledge of principles for responsible AI development, including fairness, transparency, and explainability.
Language skills :
- Essential: Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Others :
- Deep Analytical Acumen: Ability to rapidly understand complex business problems and formulate data science solutions.
- Very High Availability and Geographical Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel as required to collaborate with Axian Telecom clusters or clients.
- Thought Leadership: Ability to represent IT Co externally as an expert in data science and AI.
