  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, cyber security, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Coding (e.g., C/C++, Python, Java), Databases and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, MapReduce, Hadoop), Front end development (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, CSS), Statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, SAS), web or Machine Learning.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to multiple cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills with capability to process high amounts of data to drive business strategies and decisions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

About the jobOur Trust and Safety team has the critical mission of protecting and respecting Google's users by ensuring online safety in both core and emerging areas. This includes fighting abuse and fraud across Google products. We are also at the center of the company-wide charge to raise the bar on content, including coherent policies across platforms and scaled and effective enforcement. In the last few years, Trust and Safety has expanded beyond traditional product protections to focus on additional types of abuse such as brand safety, controversial content, violent extremism, and political interference; advanced the ways we protect our users; and demonstrated expertise across Google’s growing array of products and services.

The mission of our Platform enforcement team is to live our commitment to build a safe and transparent advertising platform protecting users through holistic, scalable and agile enforcement. Our team defends the world’s largest advertising platform by ensuring that advertisers comply with our policies.

On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and leader. You will partner with the Engineering, Product, Legal, Policy and Scaled Operations teams to drive operational performance and lower abuse rates. You will enable effectiveness and efficiency by driving intent and execution excellence to deliver cross-functional initiatives at scale and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google speed.At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google’s team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$157,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with large and unstructured data sets to get subjective insights from our vast data sources and develop solutions for scalable enforcement on non-compliant inventory.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Engineering, Sales and Policy to update policies, fix product vulnerabilities and provide a safe online experience for our users.
  • Build and evaluate models that automate decision-making. Enhance our operational workflows, tools and systems via data analysis, technical expertise, and efficient process improvements.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays.
