What You'll Be Doing

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our Apix product development team.

In this position you will get to work in the core of product development through the full software development life cycle from planning to hands-on coding, and from hands-on coding to release. With the team and a multitude of other professionals you get to plan new features and share your valuable thoughts about how something should work or look.

You have the vision and drive to do more than just type in the code. You will be working together with the software development team and mentor our team members about the development and architectural choices as well as best practices. You are into adapting new technologies and ideas as well as sharing your knowledge to your peers. Together with the team, you like to reflect on what we could do even better.

You participate architectural designing, review code and write clean code. Significant aspects of your working duties are maintainability, performance, resilience, scalability and security. You have a deep and wide understanding of software architecture models and frameworks and have experience in designing and implementing different types of software.

The team is located at our headquarters in Espoo, but we also have locations in Turku, Tampere, and Jyväskylä. We embrace a flexible hybrid model, allowing you to balance collaboration at the office with the freedom to work remotely.

What We Are Looking For

• Extensive experience as a Senior Developer in an agile product development team, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
• Strong understanding of public cloud technologies and architectural design for large-scale systems, including software life cycle management and strategies for managing technical debt. Experience in developing SaaS products is highly valued.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, Perl, and JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Vue.js and React, as well as REST API development.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices and test automation.
• Hands-on experience in technically renewing and modernizing legacy systems, including refactoring, re-architecting, and migrating to modern platforms and technologies.
• Experience in mentoring and guiding team members to achieve technical excellence. Ability to identify technical challenges, propose solutions and drive the team towards effective problem solving.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams and stakeholders.

Please note, that passing the standard security clearance vetting conducted by the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service is a requirement for employment. The employer begins the security clearance process immediately, when both parties have signed this contract.
