Contract: Hardware SME / Smart Hands Engineer
Location: Berlin - on site 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)
Rate: circa €50-55 per hour (freelance/Selbständiger)
Contract: 12 months extendable

Immediate opporutnity for an experienced freelance Data Center Network Hardware Engineer to deliver a project for a a leading consultancy client. This role is fully on-site in Berlin, 5 days per week.

Opportunity to contribute to a high-security Trust Center environment, ensuring the performance and resilience of critical infrastructure.

Role Overview

As a freelance Data Centre Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising the client's Trust Center hardware and network stack. You will provide hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and performance monitoring while working closely with client teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support Trust Center hardware (Dell servers, Cisco switches, Thales HSM, ServerTech).
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware or connectivity issues.
• Monitor hardware and network performance, ensuring integration with manufacturer tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain operational excellence.

Requirements

• Fluent in German and English (spoken & written).
• Solid experience within data centre operations.
• Hands-on expertise with:
• Dell servers
• Cisco switches
• Thales HSM
• ServerTech
• Strong troubleshooting, repair, and hardware/network monitoring background
