Senior C/Go Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modernize a large-scale C codebase in Linux/Unix environments.
• Incrementally refactor code into Go while ensuring stability and reliability.
• Collaborate with architects, DB experts, and stakeholders to design modern APIs and integrations.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and document critical functionality.
• Act as a trusted consultant for customers, providing guidance on technical decisions.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Core expertise

• 7+ years of C development in Linux/Unix with deep system-level knowledge.
• Experience with gcc, make, glibc, gdb, and binary deployment on RHEL.
  
  
  

Modernization Skills

• Familiarity with Go for gradual code rewrites and refactoring.
• Strong SQL knowledge (Oracle PL/SQL a plus).
• API design experience and modernization of DB-based integrations.
  
  
  

Consulting & communication

• Proven ability to work directly with architects and stakeholders.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to produce clear developer documentation.
  
  
  

Mindset

• Problem-solver who thrives on untangling complex legacy systems.
• Comfortable working hands-on across code, infrastructure, and DB layers.
  
  
  

Nice to have

• Telco industry experience, especially promotional engines.
