Job Description

As a Business Development Product Manager you will work closely with the closures applications, advanced engineering, operations, marketing, sales support, and direct field sales teams – from market intelligence to product launch. You will also support the sales team in building the value proposition for key customers and be the SME for your products. Your will be responsible to profitably grow your products in Orders and Sales. Based at our European headquarters in Dudelange/Luxembourg, the position will involve global travel.

Responsibilities

  • Market analysis: Intimate understanding of specific market needs for your portfolio of beverage applications (products). Build a robust network of sources to obtain reliable competitive/market intelligence, identify trends, and build “REAL” business cases (supported with achievable sales targets) to help the Beverage Closures BU gain a strategic competitive advantage with your product portfolio
  • Develop and execute on your Product Roadmap: Prepare, compile, and maintain Product Specifications in the Beverage Closures Application Road Map.
    • Ensure product requirements are met with frequent check-ins with the applications engineering team, business advisors, and direct field sales throughout the development process
    • Prioritize and oversee the piloting activities for your product portfolio
    • Be smart with the piloting activities to minimize costs wherever possible (rework & reuse pilot stack components) versus build from new
    • Beverage Closure application matrix creation and maintenance
    • Maintain appropriate levels of KanBan samples
    • Ownership of the complete Product lifecycle
    • Work with production engineering, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure cost targets are met and timing respected for successful launches
  • Go To Market Strategy
    • Develop a go to market strategy with growth initiatives aligned with the Business Strategy (install more systems, increase recurring revenue, expand to new markets). This includes definition of target accounts and regions in close collaboration with Sales.
    • Analyze opportunities – Establish growth plans – Support and drive orders
    • Be the SME for your portfolio
    • Pricing strategy based on profitability targets, customer values and competitive positioning
    • Quotation and configuration tools update
  • Responsible for Sales growth targets of your Product Portfolio
  • Sales Materials and Trainings:
    • Drive sales support material creation (presentations, calculation tools, flyers, video, website, trade show)
    • Training: sales support team, sales team, service team
    • Support marketing communication
    • Compile reports and presentations on project status
    • Report out on progress weekly via the recurring Weekly Application Meeting (WAM)
    • Build relationships with Husky sales team members and key customers
Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Several years of work experience within the injection molding industry
  • Energy and self-motivation
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent persuasive and negotiating skills
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills
  • Team player but able to work independently
  • Analytic and technical ability suitable for specialty closures mold technology marketing and sales
  • Advanced understanding of Husky’s key markets
  • Business acumen
  • Strong project, organization and time management skills
  • Self-starter – Ability to independently set and achieve targets
  • Manage priorities
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Team player, ability to professionally interact with others
  • Very good user skills in BaaN, and MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Fluent English
  • Additional language skills considered an advantage
