VML Luxembourg
VML Luxembourg is one of the leading Amazon consulting agencies in Europe. Offering 360° services for Amazon, we have a diverse range of products and services in various sectors to ensure long-term sales growth, ranging from creating multilingual content and listings to all aspects of advertising, including sales promotion, PPC and programmatic campaigns. We are part of WPP, the world’s largest digital media agency, and manage WPP’s European Center of Excellence for Amazon (ACE) dedicated to maximising performance, driving sales and building brands on the Amazon platform.
The Opportunity
VML Luxembourg is seeking a Data Director to lead our growing Data practice and deliver high-impact analytics solutions for our global clients. This is a client-facing leadership role at the intersection of data, business, and marketing activation, designed for an experienced professional who can translate complex data into actionable insights that directly shape content, media, and commerce strategies.
The Data Director will oversee a team of data analysts and data scientists, managing the delivery of analytics derived from diverse data sources such as Amazon AMC, Walmart, and other major e-retail and media platforms. By harnessing these insights, the role ensures clients can create the most impactful product content, make informed advertising decisions, and optimize activation strategies across digital commerce channels.
This is a data operations and strategy role, not a pure technology development role. The successful candidate will work closely with business and creative teams, customize dashboards in tools such as Looker or Power BI, and collaborate with technology partners where deeper integrations are required.

Client Leadership & Strategy
- Act as the primary data partner for VML Luxembourg clients, delivering clear and actionable insights.
- Translate data outputs into strategies that enhance product content, advertising effectiveness, and retail activation.
- Identify new and innovative data analytics opportunities that can be positioned as value-added services for clients.
- Package insights into bite-sized, actionable modules that serve as a GTM strategy and rollout plan; this includes defining test-and-learn frameworks, measurement hypotheses, and validation steps, followed by translating proven learnings into scalable, repeatable packages.
- Lead and manage a team of data analysts, data scientists, and reporting specialists.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and scalable delivery of analytics and insights from multiple data sources (Amazon AMC, Walmart, etc.).
- Oversee data visualization, reporting, and storytelling through MS PowerPoint, Looker, Power BI, and other analytics platforms.
- Partner with business, creative, and technology teams to design data-driven client solutions.
- Work with technical teams on data integration and customization projects, while maintaining a strong focus on client needs.
What We Want From You

- Strong expertise in retail and media analytics, with experience using platforms such as Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), Walmart, or equivalent highly desirable.
- Proficiency with BI and visualization tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau).
- Exposure to working in digital commerce, advertising, or consumer goods environments.
- Proven experience collaborating with media strategists and activation teams; able to navigate key media platforms and workflows, translate data insights into actionable media strategies.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams of data analysts and media specialists.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data insights to commercial outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills to simplify complex data for business and creative stakeholders.
- Client-oriented mindset with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
