Ryanair Labs are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group!
Ryanair Labs is the technology brand of Ryanair. Labs is a state of-the-art digital & IT innovation hub creating Europe’s Leading Travel Experience for our customers.
The role sits inside the BI team in Ryanair Labs. The BI team are made up of 95+ people split across the three Ryanair offices: Dublin, Madrid & Wroclaw. Within the BI team there is a range of different professions: Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Optimization Engineers, Data Modellers, BI Analysts, BI Reporters & BI Developers.
The Role
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join a multi-disciplinary team tackling complex, unsolved challenges with the potential for real business impact across the Ryanair network. You will own your work from ideation and problem definition to final implementation, driving solutions for high-impact commercial projects.
Requirements
- Relevant work experience 3+ years.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.).
- Proven problem solver – Ability to come up with unique solutions to unique problems.
- Strong statistical background – Ability to back claims in your findings with rigorous statistical analysis.
- Experiment design knowledge – Ability to set up an experiment to measure the impact of your models against company goals.
- Professional experience in working with large data sets.
- Strong programming skills in analytical frameworks in Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and SQL.
- Broad knowledge of Machine Learning topics and how to apply them to business problems (clustering, forecasting, classification, anomaly detection…).
- Proven track record of delivering insights, with the ability to visualize and explain models in a clear, business-friendly manner, adapting communication to the audience.
- Experience designing and creating robust ready-for-production code.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience in pricing.
- Experience with real-time data projects.
- Experience with PySpark.
- Experience in cloud technologies (AWS, Databricks, Azure …).
- Experience in causal inference.
