Role Title: Network & Connectivity Engineer
Location: Rotterdam / Amsterdam (2 days onsite, remainder remote)
Contract: 36 hours per week

About the Role
Due to increased workload from migrations to the Bank’s private Cloud (IPC), we are seeking an experienced Network & Connectivity Engineer to support a critical migration project. You will be responsible for implementing and documenting network and firewall changes, ensuring compliance with bank standards and policies, and collaborating with colleagues across NL and Poland.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement network and firewall changes according to bank standards and policies.
- Design and maintain run books for network and firewall activities in line with standard ING patterns.
- Update and maintain network and firewall documentation.
- Perform manual changes to the network infrastructure, specifically:
- Consumer load balancers (F5 GTM/LTM)
- Firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point)
- Support ongoing migration initiatives from Azure backlog to ServiceNow.
- Collaborate with international teams (Netherlands and Poland) in an Agile/Scrum setup.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (HBO / WO level) or equivalent in IT or related discipline.
- Technical expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with F5 (GTM/LTM) and Palo Alto – must-have.
- Experience with Check Point, Cisco, and Infoblox is highly desirable.
- Cisco routing knowledge is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum ways of working.
- Strong documentation and run book creation skills.

Additional Information
- The role is currently focused on manual changes; while the team is experimenting with automation, automation experience is not a requirement for this position.
- Prior banking experience is not required.
- Work mode: Hybrid, 2 days in the office (Rotterdam or Amsterdam).
