Cyber Security Consultant

We are seeking a Senior Penetration Test QA & Cybersecurity Risk Lead to oversee penetration testing quality, drive automation, and support AI initiatives in application security with our client in the financial services industry.

Duration: 6 months

Job Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite at Toronto/Waterloo)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and review penetration testing activities and reports to ensure accuracy.
• Coach the QA team on security best practices and risk-based approaches.
• Collaborate with developers to meet security standards.
• Manage a centralized vulnerability database and Power BI dashboards.
• Contribute to automation initiatives, including AI-driven reporting and QA tools.
• Coordinate with global teams and handle high-priority reviews.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years in cybersecurity, IT audit, or application security risk, with leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Power Automate, Excel VBA, SharePoint.
• Familiarity with penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Kali Linux) and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, OSFI B-13).
• Strong understanding of audit, controls, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CRISC certifications preferred.
