Role Overview
In this role, you will lead and deliver cybersecurity consulting projects focused on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), Secure Digital Transformation, and specialist domains such as Incident Response, Crisis Management, and Target Operating Model (TOM) design for private sector clients. As a Cybersecurity Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for developing client-centric value propositions, winning strategic engagements, and overseeing delivery excellence across multiple industries, including Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI), Telecommunications, and Retail. The role requires a blend of business development, project leadership, and deep technical expertise to drive impactful cybersecurity outcomes.
Primary Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Identify and assess client cybersecurity needs and pain points, particularly across BFSI, Telco, and Retail sectors.
• Develop, win, and lead large-scale cybersecurity engagements, including target operating model design, IoT and OT security, risk transformation, and cyber maturity uplift projects.
• Oversee project teams to ensure timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and high client satisfaction across private sector engagements.
• Develop a robust pipeline of cybersecurity opportunities and present proposals to clients, driving the growth of the private sector consulting practice.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders in private sector organizations, providing expert insights and guidance on cybersecurity strategies.
• Maintain utilization objectives for self and support utilization goals for team members.
• Stay up to date with cybersecurity trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies impacting private sector organizations in Qatar.
• Leverage international best practices and KPMG-specific accelerators to enhance client outcomes.
• Mentor, coach, and develop junior consultants, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
• Contribute to practice development initiatives and knowledge sharing across KPMG’s global member firms.
Qualification and Experience
• 12+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including at least 4 years in consulting within the GCC (Qatar experience strongly preferred).
• Proven track record in developing, winning, and delivering large, complex cybersecurity consulting projects for private sector clients.
• Strong understanding of sector-specific cybersecurity challenges in Banking, Telco, and Retail industries.
• Certified in at least two relevant areas such as ISO 27001, ISO 31000, CISSP, CISM, CIPP, CRISC, CCSP, Azure AZ-500, SC-100, PMP, or cloud/AI security certifications.
• Demonstrated experience in developing cybersecurity operating models, governance frameworks, and compliance programs.
• Knowledge of the Qatar business environment, regulatory landscape, and local cybersecurity initiatives (e.g., QCSF, QCB, NIA, PDPPL).
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large-scale engagements from proposal through delivery.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English, with Arabic proficiency required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
Preferred Skills
• Expertise in AI Governance, Security Engineering, and Secure/Compliance-by-Design frameworks.
• Experience working with private sector organizations in Qatar, particularly in BFSI, Telco, or Retail.
• Ability to manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across diverse cybersecurity functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with a focus on execution excellence.
• Experience leading or contributing to thought-leadership papers, whitepapers, or sector insights.
