We’re looking for a proactive and skilled frontend developer who not only excels with modern frameworks but, more importantly, has a strong foundation in core development principles. A deep understanding of the fundamentals is essential, ensuring you can adapt to any framework. Additionally, strong SEO best practices are a must. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or from our head office in Gateshead.

Your Role

As a vital member of our team, you’ll:

  • Enhance our complex digital automotive products, collaborating with a talented team to deliver top-tier solutions.
  • Develop scalable and modular functionality with a strong focus on SEO for both websites and intranet systems.
  • Interpret and create detailed requirement briefs, specifications, wireframes, and designs.
  • Mentor and collaborate with fellow developers, contributing to the evolution of our frontend solutions and processes.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years in frontend development.
  • Expertise in HTML and CSS/SCSS.
  • Proficient in JavaScript/ES6.
  • Strong understanding of React or Angular, with experience using popular frontend libraries such as Redux/RxJS.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub for version control.
  • Knowledge of mobile and responsive web design principles.
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in working with both third-party and internal APIs.
  • Competence in debugging using tools like Chrome Developer Console.
  • Solid understanding of SEO principles, including Web Core Vitals and site speed optimisation.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience leading large-scale projects or managing teams.
  • Understanding of SMACSS/BEM methodologies.
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum frameworks.
  • Experience with pair programming and conducting code reviews.
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.
  • Experience with unit and end-to-end testing tools such as Jest or Playwright.
