POSITION OBJECTIVE:
- Senior Android Developer is responsible for development, implementation and validation of native code using both Android platform in conjunction with custom hardware devices and mobile applications.
- Architect and maintain native Android application using a modern tech stack
- Assign tasks to junior and mid-level Android developers based on skillset, workload, and project priorities
- Perform regular code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and performance optimization
- Provide constructive feedback to help team members grow technically
- Ensure consistency and maintainability across the codebase
- Validate that completed features meet the intended use cases and quality benchmarks before deployment
- Continuously research, evaluate, and integrate new technologies to improve development efficiency
- 5+ years of proven experience in a similar mobile development role
- Strong experience building mobile app architectures from scratch
- Proficiency in Kotlin
- Familiarity with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and Jetpack Compose
- Solid experience working with Bluetooth Low Energy
- Experience with REST APIs and local data storage (e.g., SQLite, Room, Core Data, Preferences)
- Proficiency with Git and version control best practices
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle
- Experience with OpenGL ES for custom graphics rendering
