A rapidly scaling fintech consultancy is seeking a Senior Engineer / Principal Engineer to join its delivery team and play a key role in building high-quality software solutions that directly impact client success.

You’ll work hands-on across design, build, and deployment of modern cloud-native applications, collaborating with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to turn complex regulatory and operational challenges into intuitive, measurable outcomes.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on expertise and ownership rather than line management.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications from concept through to production release.
• Build scalable, secure, and reliable solutions using cloud-native architectures.
• Develop and optimise APIs, microservices, and integrations with fintech platforms.
• Champion best practices in coding, security, testing, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Keep documentation clear, concise, and up to date.
• Stay on top of emerging technologies and bring fresh ideas to the team.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience across the full development lifecycle of modern, scalable web applications.
• Proficiency with core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript) and server-side development.
• Strong hands-on experience with React (or similar) and back-end frameworks such as Nest.js.
• Solid understanding of API design/orchestration and database technologies (PostgreSQL essential).
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes for cloud-native delivery.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset.
• Collaborative, organised, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile delivery environment.
