Senior Network Engineer
Melbourne
Initial 5-month contract + 2x6 month extensions
$1000-1100pd
triniti is working with a major Federal Government client in Melbourne who have a transformation program focused on modernising ICT infrastructure, simplifying networks, uplifting cybersecurity, and accelerating cloud adoption.
We’re seeking a Senior Network Engineer to provide strategic design leadership and technical expertise across complex enterprise datacentre environments.
Overview
You’ll be involved in helping the review, design, and implementation of modern network and infrastructure solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
This role suits someone who blends deep technical knowledge with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and enjoys driving real change across large-scale, complex programs.
Role Responsibilities
- Assess existing network architecture and services to identify opportunities to simplify, reduce risk, and lower cost.
- Helping to develop target-state designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans to support transformation objectives.
- Supporting the design, build, test, and transition of solutions into production environments.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Project Governance teams to ensure alignment and approval.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery quality across multiple work streams.
- Ongoing support procurement of hardware, software, and services, ensuring effective handover to operations.
- Partner with vendors, delivery partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
- Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the use of Agile, ITIL, and ADKAR methodologies.
Your background
- Strong background in modern infrastructure technologies – data centre, cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), networking, unified communications, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with network architecture and security, including zero trust, SD-WAN, VPN, firewalls, segmentation, load balancing, and observability.
- Proven ability to simplify complex environments and deliver measurable cost and performance improvements.
- Experience working in teams using PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe, or ITIL frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value.
- Collaborative, adaptive, and focused on building high-performing team culture.

- Experience delivering data centre or site relocations in federal government clients
