Job Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage network solutions using Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco wireless, and Cisco Firepower firewalls.
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
- Monitor and maintain network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform regular network maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups.
- Implement and manage network security measures using Cisco Firepower firewalls and Zscaler.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for network-related issues and incidents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems, collaborating with other IT teams as needed.
- Lead and manage network engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project objectives and budgets.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular project updates.
- Analyse network performance data and implement optimisations to improve efficiency and throughput.
- Utilise network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues.
Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco wireless, and Cisco Firepower firewalls.
- Familiarity with Zscaler security solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPN).
- Knowledge of network architecture and design principles.
- Experience with network security best practices, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network design.
- Ability to perform security assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Ability to analyse network performance data and identify areas for improvement.
- Experience managing network engineering projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly desirable.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
