About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer specialized in AWS to join our dedicated security services team. Operating exclusively within the AWS cloud environment, you will oversee multiple accounts that provide critical infrastructure and security services for the RiskRecon product. Your expertise will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions. Collaborating closely with development teams, product managers, and security stakeholders, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, automated, and self-healing environments that support our rapid growth and evolving security landscape.
This hybrid position is based in Toronto, Canada, requiring three days per week onsite presence. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud security and infrastructure automation, contributing to Mastercard's global mission of building a more secure and accessible digital economy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Extensive enterprise-level IT experience with a focus on cloud infrastructure, security, and automation
- Deep expertise in AWS services including VPC, EC2, EKS, ECS, Load Balancers, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, WAF, Shield, and CloudFront
- Proficiency in Linux system administration, shell scripting, and system tuning
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, AWS CLI, and Systems Manager
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, security best practices, and compliance standards in cloud environments
- Experience managing multi-account AWS environments with automation, monitoring, and security hardening
- Familiarity with container orchestration, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS
- Proficiency in database and security services like RDS, KMS, HSM, and Workspaces
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage AWS networking components including VPCs, subnets, NAT gateways, security groups, NACLs, and transit gateways
- Configure and optimize application and network load balancers, target groups, and routing rules to ensure high availability and performance
- Implement and monitor security measures such as WAF rules, Shield services, DDoS protection, and CloudFront distributions
- Administer DNS services using Route 53 and manage domain routing configurations
- Deploy, configure, and maintain AWS EC2 instances, including auto-scaling groups, launch templates, and AMIs
- Oversee containerized workloads using AWS ECS and EKS, ensuring efficient orchestration and resource utilization
- Utilize CloudWatch and CloudTrail for infrastructure monitoring, security auditing, and alerting
- Manage IAM roles, policies, resource policies, and service control policies to enforce security and access controls
- Automate Linux system administration tasks through scripting, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Leverage automation tools such as Terraform, Git, and Systems Manager to streamline deployment and operational workflows
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards through regular auditing and reporting
- Collaborate with development and security teams to identify vulnerabilities, optimize infrastructure, and implement best practices
