We are looking for an Autonomous Security Engineer to help shape the next generation of security operations at Vodafone Oman. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage AI-powered and automated security workflows that enable our SOC to become more proactive, dynamic, and intelligent.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Develop and deploy automation workflows across detection, triage, and response to reduce manual SOC overhead.
• Integrate AI/ML models to enhance anomaly detection, threat intelligence, and predictive security analytics.
• Design orchestration pipelines that enable autonomous decision-making in threat detection and response.
• Implement advanced SOAR and SIEM integrations, ensuring seamless automation across environments.
• Collaborate with security operations and engineering teams to identify opportunities for intelligent automation.
• Continuously refine and test autonomous playbooks to adapt to evolving threats.
• Ensure cloud-native security automation for Vodafone Oman's expanding digital footprint.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies in AI, SecOps, and automation to position Vodafone Oman at the forefront of security innovation.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in security operations, automation, or engineering roles.
• Hands-on expertise with security automation/orchestration platforms (e.g., SOAR, XDR, SIEM integrations).
• Experience applying AI/ML models for security analytics, anomaly detection, or predictive threat analysis.
• Strong scripting and automation background (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
• Familiarity with containerized/cloud-native security practices (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with log management and analytics platforms (ELK, Splunk, etc.).
• Knowledge of GSMA standards, NIST, ISO 27001, and modern SecOps frameworks.
• Understanding of global cyber threat landscape and automation-driven response strategies

Key performance indicators:

• Reduction in Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Respond (MTTR).
• % of incidents successfully handled by autonomous workflows.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., GMON, GCDA, OSDA, MITRE ATT&CK Defender, or similar).
• Demonstrated experience in building automated scripts/tools for security.
• Track record in cyber drills, CTF events, or projects showcasing AI/automation skills.
