Senior Java Developer – Backend / Microservices

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer with financial services experience to join a high-performing engineering team in Manchester. You’ll design, build, and maintain Java-based microservices that power secure, scalable financial platforms, working closely with product and DevOps teams in a modern, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and deliver microservices architectures for high-performance financial systems.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
• Contribute to best practices in testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Java (11+), Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Proven background in financial services, fintech, or similar regulated industries.
• Solid understanding of API design, messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
