Role Summary
- Lead the Australian Payments Practice with strategic vision and domain authority.
- Act as a trusted advisor on payments modernization, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Drive innovation across domestic and cross-border payment systems, aligning with CBA’s transformation agenda.
Domain Expertise
- Serve as a Payments SME and Pre-sales SME for strategic solutions.
- Deep knowledge of Australian payment systems: NPP, Osko, BPay, Direct Entry, EFTPOS, ATMs, wire transfers, mobile payments, and corporate payments.
- Expertise in core banking platforms like GPP (Global Payments Platform) and high-value payment systems.
- Strong grasp of cross-border payments, settlement systems, and global transaction flows.
- Familiarity with standards: ISO 20022, PCI DSS, SWIFT MT/MX formats.
- Collaborate across business, operations, and technology teams for seamless delivery.
Innovation & Strategic Thinking
- Stay ahead of fintech startup trends and emerging payment technologies.
- Evaluate and integrate innovations such as digital wallets, blockchain, and real-time payment orchestration.
- Champion AI-driven solutions for fraud detection, compliance automation, and operational efficiency.
- Translate regulatory complexity into business opportunities and customer-centric solutions.
- Understand the full payments landscape—domestic and global—including compliance hurdles and market dynamics.
- Drive revenue growth through strategic product development and market expansion.
- Maintain a customer-first approach, ensuring safety, trust, and experience are at the core of every solution.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional teams of consultants, engineers, and analysts in transformation programmes.
- Engage with C-level stakeholders and senior executives across financial institutions.
- Build long-term relationships and foster collaboration across departments.
- Support business development through proposals, presentations, and go-to-market strategies.
- Work closely with account managers and global payments teams to shape offerings and market positioning.
