This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Backend .NET C# Software Engineer in Latin America.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of a modern, scalable backend platform with high availability and performance. You will play a key role in shaping platform architecture, driving modernization efforts, and implementing cloud-based solutions using AWS services. The position combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and mentoring, allowing you to directly influence software quality and team performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, deliver microservices-based applications, and optimize infrastructure for reliability and cost-effectiveness. This fully remote role emphasizes autonomy, creativity, and knowledge sharing across Latin America while requiring advanced English for client-facing collaboration.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable, modular, and highly available backend architectures aligned with business objectives
  • Drive architectural discussions, document platform modernization strategies, and test new designs using a "fail fast" methodology
  • Build and maintain microservice-based applications that are decoupled, maintainable, and performant
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical specifications and integration points
  • Utilize AWS services to optimize platform performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence across the team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system reliability and uptime
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in microservices, cloud computing, and backend development


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 9+ years of experience in software development
  • 7+ years of experience working with C# / .NET
  • Strong core development skills including Minimal API, REST API, and Vertical Slicing
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS (IAM, DynamoDB, S3, SQS)
  • Proven experience with microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (OTEL for C#, DataDog)
  • Advanced English level for client-facing communication with US-based teams


Preferred:

  • Experience leading teams or providing technical mentorship
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud optimization and cost-effective architecture
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in complex distributed systems
