Backend Engineer (Node.js) – Leuven (Hybrid)

Are you passionate about building scalable backend systems and working with cutting-edge technologies? We’re looking for a talented Backend Engineer with strong Node.js experience to join a dynamic team shaping the future of the real estate tech industry in Belgium.

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Node.js
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless user experiences
• Build and optimize APIs and data storage solutions
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of backend systems
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
• Work in an agile environment with a focus on innovation and quality

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role, with strong proficiency in Node.js
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development
• Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and best practices for backend development
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
