Help us build the future of industrial intelligence

At Zeltask, we are transforming how manufacturing companies manage their operations.

Our platform combines IIoT sensors, artificial intelligence, and intuitive software to help industrial teams monitor critical machinery, prevent failures, and reduce downtime.

We are currently collaborating with the University of Leipzig to apply for the EXIST-Gründungsstipendium, a German government program that funds innovative technology startups. The program provides 12 months of support covering founders’ salaries, operational costs, and institutional backing through the university.

We are looking for an IoT Lead to join our founding team and lead the design, development, and deployment of Zeltask’s proprietary industrial sensor — the backbone of our predictive maintenance system.

👉 Based on performance and team alignment, this position can evolve into a Co-Founder role with equity participation.

Your Mission

As our IoT Lead, you will be responsible for building the hardware and firmware that make industrial intelligence possible — from vibration sensing to real-time data streaming and connectivity with our cloud platform.

Your work will define how factories sense, understand, and prevent equipment failures before they happen.

You won’t just build devices. You’ll help build a company.

What you’ll do

Hardware & Firmware Development

Design and prototype IIoT sensor hardware (vibration, temperature) with focus on reliability, precision, and durability.

Connectivity & Edge Software

Develop embedded software for data acquisition, buffering, and transmission (WiFi, HTTP POST).

Ensure secure, robust communication with cloud endpoints.

Power Optimization

Optimize energy consumption for long-term autonomy (1+ year battery life) through efficient firmware and low-power modes.

Prototype to Production

Lead iterations from prototype testing to small-scale production, ensuring accuracy, maintainability, and scalability.

Collaboration & Integration

Work closely with AI, product, and software teams to align sensor data with Zeltask’s predictive models and platform architecture.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or similar.
  • 3+ years of experience developing IoT hardware, firmware, or embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ESP32, STM32, or similar microcontrollers.
  • Familiarity with sensors (vibration, temperature) and communication protocols (WiFi, HTTP, MQTT).
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++, Python, and embedded software design.
  • Experience designing low-power systems and understanding hardware–software integration.
  • Familiarity with OTA updates, data buffering, and JSON-based telemetry.
  • Advanced English proficiency (required); Spanish is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, independence, and curiosity to iterate fast and learn even faster.

Open to international talent

We are open to candidates from anywhere in the world who share our vision and drive to build the future of connected manufacturing.

What we offer

🚀 Path to Co-Founder + Equity

Based on performance and team alignment, this role can evolve into a Co-Founder position with equity participation.

🏭 Real pilots underway

We are already collaborating with manufacturing companies in Latin America for early IIoT pilot implementations.

🌍 Remote-first and async culture

We value impact over hours. You’ll work autonomously, flexibly, and in a team that moves fast and builds smart.

We are not a good match if…

  • You’re looking for a routine or narrowly defined role.
  • You’re not comfortable making strategic technical decisions from scratch.
  • You prefer strict hierarchies over autonomy and experimentation.

Ready to join us?

This isn’t just a job opening — it’s an opportunity to co-create an industrial IoT company from the ground up.

Even if you don’t meet every requirement but feel genuinely excited about what we’re building, we’d love to hear from you.
