We're supporting a fast-growing digital health and wellness platform looking to bring their technology development in-house for the first time. The product is already live and well-established, with thousands of users across mobile and web.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on technical leader — someone who can take ownership of a modern, scalable platform and help shape the future of engineering, product delivery, and team growth.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own the full technical stack (backend, mobile, cloud infrastructure)
• Lead the transition from external development partner to internal capability
• Introduce structure across delivery: roadmaps, backlog, release cycles
• Drive continuous improvement in product reliability, performance, and scalability
• Collaborate closely with the leadership team on product direction
• Play a key role in future hiring and team building

Tech Environment

• Backend: Laravel (PHP), REST APIs
• Mobile: Fully native (Kotlin for Android, Swift for iOS)
• Web: Integrated with an LMS (planned to be replaced for improved UX)
• Cloud: AWS (EC2, RDS serverless, S3, CloudFront)
• Tooling: CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, automated testing

The stack is well-architected, secure, and scalable — now it needs leadership, structure, and future planning.

What We're Looking For

• Senior-level experience in backend development (ideally PHP / Laravel)
• Strong understanding of native mobile app development (Android/iOS)
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and DevOps best practices
• Experience leading teams or managing external vendors
• Confident working across engineering and product functions
• Strong communicator, able to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders
• Bonus: experience transitioning from outsourced to in-house development
