Head of Compliance

We’re hiring for a licensed financial institution operating under the supervision of the Bank of Latvia. As part of their continued growth and regulatory development, they’re now looking for a Head of Compliance (Legal including) a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the company’s full compliance with Latvian and EU financial regulations, including MiFID II, AML, and DORA frameworks.

This role is compliance-first — legal experience is a plus, but deep familiarity with financial supervision and regulatory reporting is essential. You’ll lead regulatory strategy, maintain the relationship with the Bank of Latvia, and oversee all compliance functions, reporting directly to the Board.



What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the Bank of Latvia and other regulators
  • Own regulatory compliance and ensure full adherence to MiFID II, AML, and DORA requirements
  • Lead the preparation, submission, and tracking of all compliance reports
  • Develop, update, and enforce internal policies and risk-based procedures
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure continuous alignment
  • Advise the Board and senior management on all compliance matters
  • Provide legal insight and review where applicable



What You Bring
  • Proven experience in compliance, ideally in a licensed financial institution
  • Familiarity with MiFID II, AML, and DORA regulatory frameworks
  • Strong understanding of EU and Latvian financial regulation
  • Experience in managing communication with regulatory bodies
  • Legal education or background is considered an advantage
  • Fluency in both Latvian and English
  • Previous experience as a board member is highly valued
  • Board-level advisory or reporting experience is a strong plus
