React Native Developer – Long Term Contract (Remote, Portugal-based)

About the Role
We are looking for a React Native Developer to join a long-term contract engagement on a high-impact mobile project. You will work across both iOS and Android, contributing to the development, maintenance, and improvement of existing applications.
This role requires someone who can take ownership from day one, work autonomously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Occasional travel may be required (0–15%).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain mobile applications using React Native for iOS and Android.
- Take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality, maintainable code.
- Work on brownfield projects, including maintenance, refactoring, and migration of existing code.
- Implement and maintain native modules, particularly for GPS/geolocation features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including POs, designers, and backend engineers.
- Contribute to debugging, performance optimization, and CI/CD workflows.
- Adapt quickly to new teams, technologies, and project contexts.
Requirements
- Solid experience with React Native for both iOS and Android.
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript.
- Experience working on brownfield projects (maintenance, refactoring, migration).
- Experience with native modules, especially GPS/geolocation.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Proactive, autonomous, and able to deliver results quickly.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with debugging and performance optimization.
Contract Details
