Vigilbase is seeking a skilled Security Operations & Support Specialist to join our growing team. You’ll be the first line of defence for our clients, ensuring their environments stay secure and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Onboarding & Setup
    • Assist with DNS/WAF deployments, log ingestion, dashboard access, and SSO configuration.
    • Guide customers through our recommended security defaults and best practices.

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Respond to support tickets and live requests; investigate issues with Managed WAF, log analytics, and Cloudflare-based services.
    • Escalate complex cases to engineering while keeping the client informed.

  • Threat Monitoring & Incident Response
    • Monitor alerts and suspicious activity, triage security events, and implement mitigation steps (WAF rules, rate limiting, blocking).
    • Communicate clearly with customers during active incidents.

  • Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Base
    • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and how-to guides.
    • Identify recurring product issues and share insights with product/engineering.

  • Collaboration with Post-Sales & Delivery Teams
    • Work closely with Service Delivery and Customer Success to ensure smooth handovers and proactive customer care.

Your Background

  • Experience in IT/security support, SOC, or technical helpdesk (Tier 2+ preferred)
  • Familiarity with Cloudflare, WAFs, SIEM/SOC tooling, DNS, and log analysis
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
  • Problem-solving mindset with calm under pressure during incidents
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (GDPR, POPIA) is a plus
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cloudflare, CCNA Security) are beneficial
