- Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to threats
- Maintain and improve security in AWS by managing IAM, monitoring for threats, and ensuring compliance with standards
- Perform penetration tests to identify and help remediate security gaps
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access
- Manage distributed EDR / XDR platform
- Maintain and configure security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to implement secure configurations and best practices
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards
- Support compliance efforts (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS) through documentation and audits
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience supporting hundreds of end users in medium to large sized organizations
- 5+ years of experience in IT security or related role
- 2+ years of AWS experience, AWS certification preferred (SCS-C02)
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, Log360) and endpoint protection platforms
- Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud environments
- Experience with incident response and forensic analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Microsoft Defender experience
- Microsoft Intune experience
- Azure authentication experience
- Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP (preferred but not required)
- This position will report directly to the Director of IT I&O and is based out of Frisco, Texas.
