The Opportunity
We are seeking a driven and experienced Analyst to Senior Analyst to support valuation, transaction and due diligence engagements, delivering detailed financial analysis, modelling and reporting across a range of corporate and dispute advisory contexts. It requires strong technical capability, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, client focused environment.
The Team
Our Corporate Finance division provides a wealth of Corporate Advisory, Valuation, Transaction and Forensic Dispute Advisory services to assist our clients to get closer to their growth ambitions. Specifically, our Valuation offering includes providing valuation advice across asset classes and equity types for transactional, regulatory, financial reporting, dispute and other advisory purposes.
Key Responsibilities
Valuations
- Performing business valuations for a range of purposes, including family law disputes, commercial litigation, business succession planning and independent expert reports for listed companies;
- Performing research into appropriate comparable companies and transactions;
- Determining and implementing appropriate valuation methodologies in valuation engagements;
- Drafting or contributing to valuation reports and expert witness reports;
- Preparing and reviewing financial forecast models;
- Collecting, analysing and interpreting information on the financial standing, cost structures and trading effectiveness of organisations;
- Management of engagement deadlines and ensuring engagements are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Due Diligence
- Assisting with due diligence investigations on behalf of vendors or potential acquirers;
- Assisting with investigating accountant (IPO) due diligence investigations for businesses seeking to list on the ASX;
- Preparing financial due diligence reports;
- Analysing financial information of target entities in order to conclude on quality of earnings;
- Performing detailed assessments of historical and projected working capital requirements;
- Critical analysis of forecast models and verification of underlying forecast assumptions;
- Assessment and verification of profit normalisation adjustments.
About You
- 2+ years’ experience in Corporate Finance or Forensic Dispute Advisory, ideally in a mid-tier or Big 4 firm
- Currently undertaking or completion of a CA qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong report writing and professional communication skills
- Experience preparing 3 way financial models and conducting valuation research
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, client first mindset
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Hold citizenship or permanent residency in Australia.
