The Opportunity: Project to Permanent

This is a critical 6-month contract role with a strong intention to convert to a full-time, permanent position based on successful performance and the continued growth of the business. You will be instrumental in leading the design of our Parenting Co-Pilot App from MVP through consequent versions.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Senior Product Designer, you will be the single owner of the product design process, working closely with the Founders and Engineers.

Strategic Ownership (Design Leadership):

  • Own the Vision: Define and drive the end-to-end user experience (UX) and visual design (UI) for our product, ensuring alignment with Orange Fennec's mission and business goals.
  • Design Strategy: Develop the initial principles, component library, and systems that will serve as the foundation for all future design work.
  • Problem Definition: Translate high-level business requirements and ambiguous concepts into clear user problems, hypotheses, and design solutions.

Execution & Delivery (Hands-On Design):

  • Research & Testing: Plan and execute necessary user research, interviews, and usability tests to validate designs and inform critical product decisions.
  • Design Artifacts: Deliver high-quality wireframes, flow diagrams, prototypes, and final high-fidelity UI designs using Figma.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the Engineering team to ensure technical feasibility and pixel-perfect implementation of the design.

Post-Conversion (Full-Time Scope):

  • Take ownership of the long-term product roadmap and design systems.
  • Act as the primary advocate for design thinking and user-centricity across the entire team.
  • Mentor and potentially hire future junior designers as the team expands.

What We're Looking For
  • Senior-Level Experience: 5+ years of experience working as a Product Designer (or equivalent UX/UI role), ideally in a high-growth startup or tech environment.
  • Portfolio: A strong, meticulously curated portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design ownership of complex web or mobile products, highlighting your process and measurable outcomes.
  • Product Thinking: Deep understanding of the product development lifecycle and a proven ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
  • Figma Fluency: Expert proficiency in Figma (or similar tools) for prototyping, design system management, and collaborative work.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale clearly to non-design stakeholders (Founders, Engineers, etc.).
  • Autonomy: Proven ability to thrive in an environment with high ambiguity and minimal supervision.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience designing products within the consumer applications space (B2C).
  • Experience designing user experiences for AI/ML products or Data Visualization features.
  • Familiarity with front-end code (HTML/CSS/JS) to facilitate communication with engineering.

Why Join Orange Fennec?
