About The Team

The Platform team at Basis builds the foundational systems that power our entire product ecosystem. The Platform team enables scalability, consistency, and developer velocity by delivering shared infrastructure and tools that product teams depend on to launch reliable and scalable advertising workflows.

This specific team is responsible for building and maintaining two-way sync integrations with major advertising platforms like Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, and CM360, and expanding into Retail Media and additional Search, Social, and Ad Server platforms in the future. These integrations are the backbone of our Activation capabilities, representing a key monetization opportunity as we expand our product strategy.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager on the Platform team, you’ll work closely with engineers to architect scalable backend systems, design robust APIs, define platform governance, and lead adoption strategies across teams. You’ll also partner with other PMs and designers to understand domain-specific needs and translate them into platform capabilities that unlock future innovation.

This role is ideal for someone who loves building behind-the-scenes products, thrives on technical complexity, and enjoys collaborating with both engineers and business stakeholders.

WAYS YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

  • Owning the vision, roadmap, and execution for platform capabilities that serve as building blocks for all other teams.
  • Leading the development of platform integrations with third-party advertising systems, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and bidirectional sync for key partners like Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, and CM360.
  • Collaborating deeply with engineering to define system architecture, service boundaries, and technical requirements.
  • Writing high-level technical documentation (Confluence pages, ERDs, API specs) that guides engineering and aligns stakeholders.
  • Defining strategies for API versioning, data modeling, service deprecation, and cross-team adoption.
  • Supporting internal customers by deeply understanding their workflows, identifying platform opportunities, and prioritizing shared solutions.
  • Leading the rollout of new infrastructure capabilities, including release planning, testing strategies, and enablement resources.
  • Managing technical debt and advocate for long-term architectural health, balancing velocity with maintainability.
  • Driving alignment across teams for governance standards and platform best practices.

What You Bring To The Table

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, including 2+ years in a technical or platform-facing PM role.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineers on system design, APIs, data structures, and architecture trade-offs.
  • Familiarity with backend systems, microservices, database modeling, and event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in working with SQL and comfort reviewing technical documentation and code snippets (you don’t need to code, but you should speak the language).
  • Experience launching internal tooling, APIs, or platform components that serve multiple teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders and influence them through clarity.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, identifying patterns across diverse teams, and aligning on shared solutions.
  • Experience working with advertising APIs, marketing automation, or ad tech platforms is a strong plus.
  • A mindset of servant leadership. You care about making other teams more successful.

  • Experience working on a platform team or in a company with a mature internal tools' ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of observability, performance monitoring, or infrastructure tooling.
  • Background in software engineering or a related technical discipline.
