What is the role?
As the Director of AI, you will lead the development of advanced AI technologies that leverage our satellite data for impactful solutions in various industries. You will report directly to the Head of Technology and will oversee a team of data scientists, machine learning experts, and software engineers committed to pushing the boundaries of AI in Earth Observation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining the AI strategy for integrating machine learning and AI algorithms in ICEYE's products and services.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement AI-driven solutions that enhance data accessibility and usability for customers.
- Leading the AI team in developing innovative applications, predictive models, and data analysis tools.
- Managing project timelines, resource allocation, and team performance, ensuring effective delivery of AI initiatives within budget and scope.
- Staying abreast of industry trends and developments in AI, machine learning, and data science to ensure ICEYE remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
Essential:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in AI and machine learning, with a proven record in leading AI initiatives.
- Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models, particularly in remote sensing or Earth Observation contexts.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward shared objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, with experience in AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of data engineering and ETL processes.
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about data challenges.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to :15% of the time.
- Experience with geospatial data analysis and satellite imagery.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure, as they pertain to AI applications.
- Formal AI/ML certification courses (e.g., Google AI, Microsoft AI).
