Job Description
Scienta Lab is seeking a research intern to explore EVA's potential as a generative model across biological modalities.
You'll work with ImmunAtlas, our curated multimodal immunology dataset containing 100,000 human samples across RNAseq, histology and clinical data. Your work will be at the frontier of scientific literature review, software development, ML engineering, and development, training, and benchmarking of large-scale generative models.
Main Missions
- Literature review: exploring the current state-of-the-art of generative models for biology and deciding what could be actionable on the short-to-mid-term.
- Benchmark design: extending our current EVA benchmark with additional tasks related to generative AI across biological modalities.
- Model development: designing novel generative AI approaches powered by EVA to tackle the problem.
- Benchmarking: comparing the proposed approaches to relevant baselines and iterate.

- Master's student (or equivalent) with strong ML fundamentals and hands-on experience training models
- Proficient in Python and PyTorch with solid software engineering skills
- Familiar with current ML research and state-of-the-art approaches
- Experience with or strong interest in biological/scientific domains
- Comfortable working independently on open-ended research problems
- Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities
