As a Junior Software Engineer (m/f/d), you will contribute to building the core data product of the KN Data Mesh for Kuehne+Nagel. You’ll be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining our shipment data applications. You’ll collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to understand and analyze requirements, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
How you create impact
- Develop and maintain software features using technologies such as Java & Spring, Apache Kafka, AWS, GraphQL / REST APIs, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Git and GitLab.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features into the overall system architecture.
- Work within an agile (SCRUM) development team.
- Analyze requirements and produce supporting documentation.
- Take ownership of code quality and ensure long-term maintainability of the software.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Familiarity with AWS and/or real-time messaging technologies.
- Ability to design and deliver user stories, including writing automated tests.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
