We are currently hiring a Embedded Software Developer to join our Vehicle Engineering Team in Lisbon.

What we do in our team?

The Battery & Steering Systems Team drives the software development, testing, and validation of critical vehicle systems, ensuring performance, safety, and reliability. We design and test embedded software for battery and steering systems. By combining hardware expertise, software precision, and deep testing know-how, we help bring innovation from the lab to the road

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Development and implementation of embedded software components for BMS and steering applications, primarily using the C programming language.
  • Implementation of control logic using qualification tools, with a focus on Ansys SCADE.
  • Implementation of software following functional safety (ISO 26262) and ASPICE processes.
  • Support of system integration with ECUs, sensors, and actuators, utilizing protocols like CAN and CAN-FD.
  • Development of tools/scripts to support software build, integration, and testing.
  • Execution of unit and subsystem testing to validate compliance with requirements.
  • Managing source code and version control efficiently using Git and collaborating on requirements/project tracking via CodeBeamer.
  • Preparation of technical documentation, requirements reviews, and decision papers.

What requirements are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science/Software Engineering (with a focus on Embedded Systems), Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5+ years in embedded software development for safety-critical automotive ECUs.
  • Strong knowledge of C programming language and a strong understanding of embedded systems and real-time software.
  • Experience with Ansys SCADE for model-based software development and code generation.
  • Experience with the CodeBeamer platform for requirements, test, and risk management.
  • Strong practical experience with CAN and CAN-FD communication protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS and low-level microcontroller programming.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 (ASIL) development processes and ASPICE compliance.
  • Familiarity with BMS algorithms (SOC, SOH, balancing, diagnostics) and/or steering control logic.
  • Use of requirements management tools (DOORS) and version control (Git).
