This role focuses on bringing order and efficiency to a large, long-term photo library. The project involves organizing approximately 60,000 images accumulated over a decade, with the aim of creating a logical, easy-to-navigate folder structure within Adobe Lightroom. The successful candidate will address challenges such as duplicate files, unsorted and unrated images, and the need to match exported files to their original RAW counterparts. The objective is to establish a streamlined workflow that prevents loss of RAW files and supports future editing needs. The project also includes organizing some video files and separating specific assets from the main Lightroom or folder structure. While the client is based in London, this position can be completed remotely, with file transfer via hard drive or online as required.

Deliverables

  • Sort and organize approximately 60,000 photos by date and relevance within Lightroom
  • Develop and implement a clear, logical folder structure for long-term use
  • Identify and remove duplicate files, ensuring only the best versions are retained
  • Match exported images to their original RAW files where possible
  • Organize and separate video files and specific assets as requested
  • Ensure all files are easily accessible and the workflow is optimized for future editing
  • Provide recommendations for ongoing photo management best practices

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Adobe Lightroom Classic and strong understanding of its cataloging and organizational features
  • Experience managing large-scale photo libraries, including RAW and exported file handling
  • Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to sorting and categorizing digital assets
  • Ability to identify and resolve duplicate and misplaced files efficiently
  • Familiarity with both Mac and Windows file systems is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear documentation of the new structure
  • Availability for remote work; based in London is a plus but not required
  • Reliable internet connection for potential online file transfers
