Title: Junior IT Security Analyst
Duration: 6 months + opportunity to extend
Location: Toronto, ON- Hybrid- 4x/ week on-site- Monday to Thursday
Compensation: $30-35/Hour
Interview Process: 2 Rounds
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical research on security topics, tools, and best practices.
- Open and manage IT change tickets, including follow-up with stakeholders.
- Assist with light technical project management tasks (tracking timelines, preparing updates, coordinating across teams).
- Support documentation efforts, including process guides, risk assessments, and technical summaries.
- Help ensure alignment with cybersecurity standards, policies, and procedures.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field (proof of strong academic performance preferred, e.g. high GPA, research, or advanced studies).
- Demonstrated interest in Cyber Security (e.g. relevant coursework, certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP Associate, or equivalent), or research.
- Experience in IT Security Assessments from an audit perspective - Foundational understanding of IT Security Assessments (from an audit perspective).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow through on details, and stay organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Exposure to IT change management processes.
- Experience performing IT Security Assessments from a technical perspective.
- Familiarity with project management tools or methodologies (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or MS Project).
