The HR Generalist role reports to the Group HR Manager
Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for the day-to-day HR operations, acting as the first point of contact for employees and managers. You will handle a wide range of responsibilities, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Singapore's employment landscape and a passion for creating a supportive and efficient workplace within the dynamic automotive sector. This role will be fully on-site work at the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-Spectrum HR
- Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, offboarding, and employee data management in our HRIS.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to recruit for various roles, including frontline, technical and administrative staff.
- Source candidates using various channels, conduct interviews, and manage the offer process.
- Ensure a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for all new hires.
Human Resource Management
- Stay abreast of legislative changes and government schemes.
- Act as the HR Advisory for line managers and employees on statutory labor law, company policies and procedures.
- Direct the management of statutory entitlements, such as work permits, maternity leave, childcare leave, and related obligations, to support both employees and business continuity.
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws, CPF, and all statutory obligations, safeguarding the company’s reputation and accountability.
- Oversee the integrity of workforce administration, including contracts, staff records, leave, and attendance management systems.
- Any other duties and projects as and when assigned by the Group HR Manager.
- Support the payroll team (if necessary), including commissions, incentives, and overtime calculations.
- Administer employee benefits and respond to any compensation-related queries.
- Review company’s group insurance coverage and renewals.
- Plan, assess, develop and administer the company’s benefits, as well as communicate with employees about the Company program.
Performance Management
- Administer and coordinate annual performance management review including tabulating results and updates results on the system.
- Manage annual increment, merit increment and promotion exercise.
- Champion a high-performance culture built on accountability, professionalism, service excellence, and results.
- Drive regular performance reviews, recognition programs, and performance improvement measures.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Uphold a fair and consistent workplace by addressing staff grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters with integrity and transparency.
- Ensure all HR practices are in strict compliance with the Singapore Employment Act and MOM regulations.
- Assist in policy development and implementation to foster a positive and fair work environment.
Training & Development
- Coordinate training sessions, including mandatory safety training and product training for staff.
- Support managers in identifying employee development needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a HR Generalist or similar role.
Knowledge and Skills
- Solid, practical knowledge of the Singapore Employment Act and local HR practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with employees across all levels.
- High integrity and professionalism, trusted with sensitive information.
- A proactive, resourceful, and hands-on problem solver.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and familiarity with HRIS/payroll system will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
