Maritz is seeking a Front End Software Developer that will build and maintain user-facing features for our web applications, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and performance.

This role collaborates with UX/UI, product, and engineering teams within a scaled agile environment and serves as the “frontend mechanic” for coding, testing, and troubleshooting.

This is a hybrid role onsite in our Fenton, MO campus 3 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday).

Primary Responsibilities

Frontend Development & Implementation (40%)

  • Develop, code, and maintain web features using JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Utilize browser developer tools to debug, optimize, and test performance.
  • Implement enhancements, optimizations, and system customizations to improve the user experience.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery (20%)

  • Partner cross-functionally with UX/UI design, product management, marketing, QA, and backend engineering teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning) and peer code reviews.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of code, processes, and standards.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement (20%)

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to site functionality, rendering, and performance.
  • Identify and drive workflow and process improvements within the development lifecycle.
  • Share learnings and contribute to internal knowledge documentation and best practices.

Technical Contribution (20%)

  • Collaborate on scalable technical solutions and evolving frameworks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4–6 years of experience developing and delivering modern, scalable web applications.
  • Strong proficiency in: JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Git, Agile methodology, accessibility standards & Cross-browser troubleshooting and browser developer tools.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and Oracle Commerce 11.3.2 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Agile workflows and tools such as Jira.
  • Understanding of: Accessibility – WCAG standards and testing tools (e.g., Lighthouse) | Testing/Automation – Automated testing tools and strategies | Monitoring & Performance – Metrics such as throughput, latency, and error rates.
