Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Security Analyst to join their growing team near Coppell, Texas.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting the organization's information and assets by monitoring systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents.
This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and Analyze: Proactively monitor security logs and alerts from various security tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection systems). Analyze security events to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and malicious activities.
- Incident Response: Serve as a key member of the incident response team. Investigate security incidents, determine the root cause, and implement countermeasures to contain and mitigate the damage.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests on networks, applications, and systems. Report findings and work with IT teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Security Policies and Procedures: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Threat Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies. Provide recommendations for enhancing our security posture based on threat intelligence.
- User Training: Help develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in an information security or cybersecurity role.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks, principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, IDS/IPS, IDR/MDR/XDR).
- Experience with security tools such as platforms, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language.
- Certifications: Professional certifications are highly desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
