As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and develop the core infrastructure enabling fast, reliable, and cost-efficient cross-chain transactions. You will build high-performance systems that manage liquidity, execute transactions across multiple blockchain networks, and solve critical challenges in cross-chain interoperability. This role involves close collaboration with smart contract developers, data scientists, and engineering teams to optimize algorithms, improve system reliability, and ensure scalability. You will thrive in a fully remote, fast-paced environment with autonomy, the opportunity to mentor peers, and direct impact on innovative blockchain products used across multiple chains.
Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain a high-performance cross-chain solver for multiple blockchain networks
- Develop pricing, routing, and liquidity management algorithms to optimize transaction throughput and capital efficiency
- Build robust monitoring, alerting, and testing frameworks to ensure system reliability and security
- Collaborate with smart contract and front-end teams for seamless integration with on-chain protocols
- Maintain high coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices for performance, maintainability, and security
- Optimize transaction execution logic balancing bid frequency, win rate, and system efficiency
- Act as a technical mentor and provide guidance on backend and algorithmic challenges
- 5+ years of backend development experience, ideally in high-throughput systems
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and frameworks like NestJS
- Solid background in data structures, algorithms, and statistical analysis
- Deep understanding of blockchain architecture, mempool dynamics, and transaction execution
- Experience with monitoring, observability tools, and caching solutions (e.g., Redis)
- Strong system design and architecture skills with the ability to think at a high level
- Autonomy, problem-solving mindset, and ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
- Proficiency in Rust
- Experience building cross-chain solvers or similar trading systems
- Familiarity with cross-chain bridges, DEXs, or different blockchain VMs (EVM, SVM, Move)
- Base salary β¬100K - β¬150K with equity participation from day one
