About NestAI

NestAI builds next-generation technology – a lab for the brilliant and the bold, those who want to solve significant human and societal problems.

We’re not here to be conventional, or do what’s already been done. We’re here to spark curiosity. To push boundaries and build for what’s next.

Backed by PostScriptum, NestAI is designed for the long-term — building boldly and developing physical AI that will shape the future.

Role Description

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer—or experts in specific embedded domains—to join our team full-time in Tampere (primary location) or Helsinki.

In this role, you will design, implement, test, and maintain software for embedded and real-time systems. You will work closely with hardware engineers and AI researchers to bring physical AI to life, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability in demanding environments.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and debugging embedded software.
  • Working with real-time operating systems (RTOS), microcontrollers, and embedded Linux.
  • Integrating software with hardware components, drivers, and sensors.
  • Implementing communication protocols (e.g. CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).
  • Ensuring robustness, safety, and security in embedded systems.
  • Performance optimization and debugging using hardware/software tools.
  • Collaborating in agile development teams across hardware, AI/ML, and cloud integration.

  • Qualifications

    • Proficiency in embedded software development (C/C++ and/or Python required).
    • Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, and/or embedded Linux platforms.
    • Familiarity with real-time systems and hardware/software co-design.
    • Knowledge of debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or similar.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
    • Security awareness in embedded environments is a plus (secure boot, cryptography, vulnerability scanning).
    • Experience with edge AI, robotics, or autonomous systems is a strong plus.

    Why Join Us?

At NestAI you get to work with world-class scientists and engineers, building next-generation physical AI technology that will shape the future. As a PostScriptum company, we have a unique advantage in driving research excellence and impact at scale.
