Senior Developer, Mobile iOS

We are looking for a Senior Developer, iOS to join our mobile development team. Working at Polar you will be collaborating with a group of highly skilled engineers, architects and product owners to provide state-of-the-art SW solutions into our new consumer products.

You will work as a member of our Mobile SW development team with focus on definition, SW implementation, delivery and team’s quality assurance related tasks. Work will require cross-team collaboration and stakeholder interaction.

Main responsibilities:

·      Design and build advanced applications for the iOS platform

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

·      Work with outside data sources and APIs

·      Produce well tested robust code which is easy to read and maintain

·      Work on bug fixing and improving application performance

·      Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• 5+ years of experience of working in a software engineering role 
• Working experience in iOS app development (Swift, Swift UI, Objective C), have published at least one original iOS app
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON and experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
• Great collaboration skills and communication skills: "share what you learn, help others, learn from your peers, and ask for help when you need it"
• Quality and detail-oriented mindset
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
• Self-starter and pro-active personality
• Fluent command of written and spoken English

Desired skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms e.g. AWS.
• CI environment skills
• Knowledge and interest in continuing to learn and identify new technologies and new tools
• Android / Jetpack Compose / Kotlin Multiplatform skills are considered as an advantage

Preferred location is in Polar Headquarters at Kempele, other Polar locations in Finland are negotiable (Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Tampere).
