Head of Cyber Security – (€650 – €750 per day – Remote - 3 month contract)

A leading publicly listed organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Security Lead on a short term contract to provide immediate operational coverage during a critical period. This role offers the chance to step into a high-impact environment, ensuring security operations remain stable and effective while the Head of Security is on extended leave.

There is no people management required — the focus is purely on hands-on operational security, prioritisation, and maintaining resilience across a lean, fast-moving infrastructure.

Environment

• Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace hybrid
• Ecommerce infrastructure fully hosted on GCP (with on-call team support)
• Publicly traded company competing at scale with lean teams
• Systems are well documented, though not all tools are enterprise-grade

Ideal Profile

• Strong technical security background with experience across SOC 2, GRC, audits, and compliance
• Comfortable engaging with external auditors (e.g. PwC)
• Experienced in both compliance and hands-on security work
• Technical lead experience is advantageous; people management not required
• Able to quickly gain context and prioritise effectively across teams
