We are looking for an experienced Senior/Lead Rust Developer to join a system software company with strong hardware expertise, specializing in artificial intelligence.
This role focuses on building advanced distributed systems that enable GPU workload co-location and checkpointing/restoration in Kubernetes environments.
Feel free to work remotely from anywhere across Latvia or connect with colleagues at our Riga office.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop distributed systems, including node-level daemons, dynamic library interceptors, and system-level components to support GPU workload co-location and checkpoint/restore on Kubernetes nodes
- Integrate developed solutions into Kubernetes-based GPU clusters with customized scheduling and resource management behavior
- Develop and maintain lightweight HTTP/gRPC services for component interaction, metric collection, and visualization
- Engineer innovative GPU co-location and checkpoint/restore pipelines to manage GPU workloads efficiently without termination or restarts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of system-level software
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (PhD is a plus)
- Proven experience as a Senior Rust Developer with strong programming and debugging skills
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and asynchronous/distributed system design
- Hands-on experience with system-level development, FFIs, and unsafe Rust components
- Knowledge of CUDA, GPGPU programming, and performance optimization is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with Kubernetes APIs, control plane components, and container orchestration is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven approach

Salary range €4.5K-€6.3K gross, based on your experience and interview results.
