Description
Main activities and tasks:
- Provide back-office support for RAN network elements, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and availability of the mobile network.
- Manage the full lifecycle of RAN-related Incidents, Problems, and Changes, including troubleshooting, escalation, and closure of Trouble Tickets (TTs) and Service Requests (SRs) within agreed SLAs.
- Perform preventive maintenance and performance management, proactively monitoring KPIs, alarms, and traffic trends to detect and resolve degradations.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of major Incidents, propose corrective actions, and support Problem Management with permanent solutions.
- Participate in implementation and configuration activities: create Work Orders (WOs), validate parameters, configure network elements, and support new node integrations in coordination with field teams.
- Support Change Management by planning, preparing, and executing configuration changes, software upgrades, parameter updates, and feature activations in the live RAN environment, in line with approved MoPs.
- Provide remote support to field engineers during implementation, migration, or troubleshooting activities, ensuring compliance with safety and access procedures.
- Participate in acceptance testing of new RAN sites, software releases, or parameter changes, validating network performance and updating operational databases (e.g., Ramsite, OSS).
- Deliver reports and documentation on incidents, changes, performance trends, and preventive actions, ensuring proper knowledge base contribution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including RAN optimization activities (parameter tuning, mobility management, energy optimization, interference handling, public event assurance).
- Cover 24x7 on-call duties, providing out-of-hours technical authority support for urgent incidents or escalations.
- Train, mentor, and support junior engineers when designated by the line manager.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements and ITIL-aligned processes for Incident, Problem, Change, Event, and Release Management.
- Liaise with operators, vendors, and third parties to ensure seamless fault resolution, change execution, and service restoration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or IT Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Vendor or technology-specific certifications (Ericsson preferred, Nokia, Huawei RAN, 5G) are an advantage.
- Required Experience:
- Solid knowledge of Mobile Networks RAN technologies, architecture, and protocol stacks.
- Proven experience in Back Office / 2nd line RAN operations, including Incident and Change Management.
- Hands-on experience with RAN configuration, parameter tuning, and fault handling.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools, OSS systems, and ticketing platforms.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release).
- Previous experience in a Managed Services / NOC environment is desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of Ericsson RAN and related OSS systems.
- Understanding of 5G SA/NSA architecture, mobility management, and feature activation.
- Working knowledge of RAN performance KPIs, optimization techniques, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with NFVI, Cloud RAN, and IP transport.
- Ability to create and execute scripts/automation for repetitive tasks.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Professional level of English is a must (written and spoken).
